Zeroqu founder & CEO featured in Ship Energy on 'second wave' of green retrofits

In a recently published article in Ship Energy, Nitesh Ranvah, our founder & CEO (who is also the group CEO at 21Knots Marine Engineering Consultancy) shared how a number of first movers and shipping giants having completed their first engine conversions and what this means is, a second wave of green retrofits is round the corner. It will be driven by owners of smaller fleets and can be expected in the next two to three years.

Nitesh and his team have recently worked with owners including two of the world largest container lines. They are now seeing a growing number of smaller shipowners entering the consultancy phase for green retrofit projects.

Two to three years will give these companies time to secure funding and align the retrofitting works with a planned dry dock.

"Once they have the roadmap, it's about creating the right financial setup to make those investments. They need to see when the vessels are going to dry dox, and they need to have the CAPEX” -Nitesh Ranvah
